Warehouse Management System Overview

Warehouse Management is a warehouse and distribution center management system that combines technically advanced information technologies with industry-leading functionality. In addition, Warehouse Management can support a common business scenario in the third party logistics (3PL) environment. When inventory is received into a multi-client warehouse, Warehouse Management performs the following actions:

  • Determines which client owns that inventory
  • Tracks the inventory by that client at all times
  • Allocates inventory to client-specific orders
  • Ships that inventory to the client’s end customers
  • Applies client-specific workflows
  • Bills each individual client for services rendered
  • Provides inventory reports by client

 

Warehouse Management can also communicate with host applications to keep information such as order processing and accounting accurate by providing real-time information from the warehouse floor. The application can also be configured to run with or without a bar code printer network and with or without radio frequency (RF) devices.
